In the current context of a public health emergency caused by the disease COVID-19, classified by the World Health Organization as an international pandemic, the “Santa Casa Challenge” model needs to be applied to this reality in order to react to the effects produced by this pandemic on the elderly population more vulnerable.
It is in this context that we launched an extraordinary edition of the “Santa Casa Challenge” aimed at creating and adapting technological and digital solutions that respond to the specific needs of the elderly in situations of prophylactic confinement or social isolation caused by COVID-19.
The “Santa Casa Challenge extra COVID-19” competition seeks innovative technological solutions that can give rise to platforms, devices, applications, digital content, web or communication services. These solutions can result from new ideas already tested and feasible from a technological point of view or from the adaptation of solutions that already exist or are available on the market and are being used in other contexts.
The “Santa Casa Challenge extra COVID-19” competition aims to find solutions that answer the following challenge:
“”How can we create or adapt technological and digital solutions to the specific health and safety needs of the most vulnerable elderly who are in a situation of prophylactic confinement or in social isolation caused by COVID-19?””
Startups that have been active for at least two years and companies of any size and area of activity can apply to the “Santa Casa Challenge extra COVID-19” contest.
The total value of the prize made available by SCML for the “Santa Casa Challenge extra COVID-19” program is 100 thousand euros.
Each winning solution is awarded a monetary prize of 25 thousand euros.
The winning solutions may come to develop a pilot project with a maximum duration of six months that will take place in equipment or services from SCML or its social partners.
Applications must be formalized on the website by completing and submitting the application form and uploading a video with a maximum duration of three minutes (“”pitch””) describing the innovative technological solution.
Applications run until April 29, 2020.
