PRIO Jump Start (3rd edition)

The Jump Start international program returns to its third edition. This year the program has the support of 3 important partners that leverage and enrich the contribution of Jump Start to startups – Portugal Ventures, Inova Ria and Ílhavo City Hall.

More than an acceleration program, this initiative offers the winners the possibility to test their pilots in a real environment within PRIO, with all the necessary accompaniment, establishing a business relationship and partnership with the company.

By April 30, startups can apply for the JumpStart program, responding to three challenges and presenting their solutions in the areas of energy, sustainability and technology, specifically:
• ENERGY FOR MOBILITY – How to continue to energize and empower people’s mobility?
• ENERGY RETAIL SCANNING – How can digital transformation fuel a change in energy and convenience retail?
• ADVANCED FUELS – How to create the new fuel generation for the energy transition?

After the application period, 20 startups will be chosen to work out their value proposition in the intensive bootcamp that will take place on June 5 and 6. During this bootcamp, the 10 finalists will be chosen to be accompanied by PRIO and imatch in mentoring sessions with the aim of adapting their innovative solutions to PRIO’s business structure. On July 3 – two days before the grand final – there will be an intensive day dedicated to pitch training.

The final will be on July 5 and the three winning companies will receive 10,000 euros of base value to implement their pilot project, and may also have an implementation grant based on the evaluation of the business model and permanent support of the PRIO team .

In addition, TOP 5 gains the opportunity to perform a flight on PRIO’s acrobatic aircraft. The entrepreneur able to make the most daring loop wins an ALPHA stand at the Web Summit or € 2,500 to promote their startup in partnership with PRIO.

During the bid phase, PRIO will also be present in several cities across the country to give startups the opportunity to pitch while testing an electric vehicle. Dates and application forms can be found in the PITCH & DRIVE section of the program website.

Cristina Borges Correia, director of innovation at PRIO, says: “Jump Start and this year’s news clearly demonstrate our willingness to continue to bring innovation to the national energy and mobility sectors. We aim to offer more value to our customers, transforming the business areas in which we operate, always guided by principles of innovation and sustainability. In short, prepare PRIO for the great trends of the future. “

PRIO launches the third edition of this program in partnership with imatch, a group that works on innovation within organizations. In parallel, the 2nd edition of Top Ideas, an initiative of internal innovation to receive, reward and develop ideas submitted by PRIO employees will also be taking place.
