Santa Casa Challenge 2018

The Santa Casa Challenge 2018 is a digital social innovation contest that will promote the use of new information and communication technologies and the potential of networking the Internet to meet the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations Organization (ODS 2030).

Solutions are accepted exclusively within the scope of ODS 4 – Quality education that respond to the challenge: How can we ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all?

Individual or team entrepreneurs, non-profit entities and startups can apply.

This is the 3rd edition of the contest, which was launched at the “Tech Meets the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals” event sponsored by the House of Impact of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon at the Web Summit 2018. This contest was developed under one of the 4 main axes of Casa do Impacto – Investimento, which aims to create financial and technical mechanisms to contribute to the necessary sustainability of initiatives and projects of social impact. The objective is to promote the use of ICTs and the networking potential in response to the sustainable development goals established by the United Nations Organization (ODS 2030).

The idea is that innovative technological solutions give rise to technologically feasible devices, applications, digital content, web services or communication. These solutions may result from new ideas or application of existing ideas and products and services may be developed or under development but may not be marketed or available in the market.

The application phase runs from November 6 to February 8. Applications are made by completing a form here and sharing a video with pitch lasting no more than three minutes.
