The Business Acceleration Programme – LISPOLIS IGNITE! – which aims to support startups in developing their business models, with exclusive access to training sessions and specialised mentoring.

 

In 2024 there will be 2 editions, each with 4 intensive days of training and ending with a Demo Day. The 1st Edition came to an end in April and the 2nd Edition will take place in October and applications are already open.

 

Want to accelerate your business and don’t know where to start?

 

The 1st edition focussed on the areas of energy and sustainability, with the aim of contributing to the acceleration of innovative and disruptive startups/projects/ideas that are a fundamental asset for these industries.

 

We were looking for startups with the following profile:

 

  1. No more than 7 years old;
  2. From the energy or sustainability areas; or
  3. Produce work that is relevant/contributes to these areas (for example, a project to build a platform that increases the efficiency of the work processes of a company that produces components for wind energy).

 

The prizes for this first edition were 1 000€ and a year’s incubation (at Centro de Incubação e Desenvolvimento) for 1st place and a year’s incubation for 2nd and 3rd place.

 

Bootcamp

 

There were 4 intensive days (11, 12, 18 and 19 March) where tools were shared to boost business and topics such as Marketing and Finance for startups, Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies and Financing Opportunities were covered.

 

Demo Day

 

The 1st edition of LISPOLIS Ignite came to an end on April 9th , where we brought the community together to talk about innovation in the areas of sustainability and energy – we heard from António Dias Martins (Startup Portugal), we listened to brilliant pitches from startups ready to impact the ecosystem, we heard the inspiring story of Filipe Reina Fernandes, founder of Windcredible, and his predictions for the future of the industry, and we closed with the inspiring words of Nuno Caleia, from Lisbon City Council.

 

The jury that had the difficult task of naming the winners were: Bruno Carvalho (D-Orbit), Luís Caldas de Oliveira (IST and iStartLab), Marcia Pereira (Bandora), Paulo Santos (ADENE) and Susana Viseu (BUSINESS as NATURE).

 

The winners of this edition were:

 

1st place: ANIMOB

 

2nd place: Bambu Bicycles

 

3rd place: Repete

 

Other participating startups: Bioresid, Europeltier Thermotechnology, Flavorit, Floresta Nativa, Photobooking, Proven Solar, SAKI, Terrama, Wisegrid and Zero Emissions World.

The 2nd Edition took place in partnership with Healthtech Lisboa in October and focused on the Healthtech area.

 

There were 4 intensive days (October 1, 3, 22 and 23), where tools were shared to boost health businesses and topics such as Regulatory and Digital Health, Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies in Health, Finance for Startups in Health and Structuring for Investments were covered. It ended with the Demo Day (October 30), with the presentation of the final projects and the award ceremony.

 

The jury that had the difficult task of naming the winners were: Purificação Tavares (Genetics Unilabs), Vítor Crespo (HealthTech Lisboa), Catarina Paralta (SGS), Luís Caldas de Oliveira (IST and iStartlab) and Joana Cardoso Vaz (Ophiomics).

 

The winners of this edition were:

1st Place: Healthtech Lisboa Prize powered by LISPOLIS – Lampsy (€4 000)

2nd Place: SGS Prize – Virtuleap (€3 000)

3rd Place: CNS Prize – IMAGI Health (€2 000)

 

All the prizes include hours of mentoring by Healthtech Lisboa plus a year’s incubation at Centro de Incubação e Desenvolvimento.
