Youth Foundation promotes 26th edition of PEJENE

The Youth Foundation promotes the 26th edition of PEJENE – Internship Program for Young Students in Higher Education in Business, in partnership with IEFP – Institute of Employment and Professional Training and IPDJ – Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth. This National Internship Program is aimed at young people attending the last and last year of higher education in all academic areas.

The applications for PEJENE 2018 have two phases:

The first stage, for companies / host entities interested in receiving trainees, runs until April 14.

The second phase, for the young students who want to apply, runs from April 18.

For both entities and young people, applications are made directly on the website www.fjuventude.pt/pejene2018

After the deadline of the applications of the host companies / entities, the Youth Foundation publishes online the list of placements for internships, thus initiating applications for young students.

The stages of the 26th edition take place between July and September. In addition to the experience provided, the trainees can also count on the food and transport subsidies, as well as a Personal Accident Insurance.

PEJENE is one of the strategic vectors of the Foundation for Youth – Employment and Entrepreneurship – a strong contribution to overcome the obstacle of the lack of experience and curricula of young students and the lack of preparation for the world of work. Since 1993, this program has been responding to the needs of young people who are finishing higher education, allowing them to carry out professional tasks and to increase their knowledge in a real working environment.

In the last edition of the PEJENE program, the employability rate was 23%, which translates into full-time or part-time contracts, professional internship and / or service provision after the internship. These results are quite significant, given the current situation in which there is a great difficulty in the employability of young graduates
